Portillo’s-Scottsdale, 1/17/24

A warm winter Wednesday welcomed YHOG’s wheeled-wanderers (a total of 17 on this 17th day of 2024!) for a ride out from Legends H-D down I-17 to exit onto Dove Valley Road, where riders wagged this way and that southeasterly across more rural desert roads to eventually pick up Dynamite Blvd., Pima Road, and ultimately E. Thompson Peak Parkway on a back-way into Scottsdale (since the idea was to avoid the Valley freeways).  Once in town, the sizeable group successfully navigated a multitude of major intersections and stop lights to arrive as a single caravan at Portillo’s for lunch.  There, three Valley riders met up with YHOG to swell the number of hungry HOGs to 20!  Known for their famous Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches (not to mention the chocolate cake & chocolate cake shakes), Portillo’s is always packed at lunchtime.  So it came as a minor miracle that there were three large vacant tables together, which meant the group remained together and more easily got to indulge in the yummy grub and jovial camaraderie we so often come out to enjoy!
